Removing stains from teeth with powder.
Soda cleaning, or powder cleaning, is an effective and gentle way to remove superficial stains caused by coffee, red wine, tea, or smoking from the surfaces of teeth and between them. Because it is gentle, powder cleaning can be repeated several times a year if stains accumulate quickly.
After cleaning, teeth become very clean and fresh, often appearing brighter in color once all surface stains are removed. However, powder cleaning does not whiten the enamel itself; in that case, either Single-treatment Whitening or Power Whitening is needed.
A dental hygienist removes stains and bacterial coating from the surfaces, gaps, and grooves of the teeth using powder together with a stream of water and air. Powder cleaning is gentle on the teeth and can, if necessary, be repeated several times a year.
Book an appointment for soda (powder) cleaning when disturbing stains have built up on the surface of your teeth. If you have considered teeth whitening, powder cleaning alone may sometimes be enough to achieve the desired result.
Powder cleaning and stain removal are performed only on a healthy mouth. For example, tartar must be removed before soda cleaning.
