Aesthetic botulinum treatment is suitable for adults who wish to reduce the appearance of lines caused by facial muscle activity. At Oral, aesthetic botulinum treatments are not provided for individuals under 18 years of age.

How aesthetic botulinum treatment is performed

• Please arrive at the clinic with a clean face and without makeup.
• Before the treatment, our professional will make sure that there are no health-related reasons that would prevent the treatment from being carried out safely. You will also discuss which areas you would like to have treated.
• The skin is cleansed before treatment. The botulinum medication is then injected with a fine needle into the agreed treatment areas.
• The results of the treatment usually begin to appear within 2–3 weeks.
• The effects of botulinum treatment typically last for 3–6 months, but the duration may vary from person to person.

Aftercare instructions for aesthetic botulinum treatment

Please follow these instructions on the day of your treatment:

• Do not rub, press, lean on, or touch the injection areas.
• Do not wear makeup. You may apply moisturiser to the skin if needed.
• Avoid strenuous exercise that causes sweating, alcohol consumption and sauna use.

Small bruises may appear at the injection sites. If bruising occurs, you can treat the area with a cold compress. Mild muscle weakness and a feverish feeling may occur on the day of treatment. These symptoms are temporary and usually pass on their own.

You can usually return to your normal daily activities the following day.

The effects of botulinum treatment usually last approximately 3–6 months.  After this, the treatment can be repeated if necessary. There must be at least 3 months between treatments.

Aesthetic botulinum treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for individuals under 18 years of age. The skin in the treatment area must also be healthy.
