Ursula Saari

Dental Specialist, orthodontics

I provide orthodontic treatment for all ages: children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I work in a calm manner, carrying out procedures gently. I try to explain the treatment plan to the patient as precisely and clearly as possible, and during treatment visits I also keep them informed about how the treatment is progressing. My patients have been satisfied with the results and their appointments in terms of the way I work.

Orthodontic treatments correct things like malocclusion, dental arch crowding, and incorrectly positioned teeth. The result is a beautiful, aesthetic and even dental arch. The orthodontic techniques I offer include Invisalign orthodontic aligner treatment (discreet transparent aligners that can correct even the most severe malocclusion) and fixed brace technology (braces) with either metal or ceramic orthodontic brackets. As an orthodontist, I am familiar with the biomechanics needed to move teeth, as well as the growth and development of teeth and bones.

I have 30 years of experience in providing patients with orthodontic treatment. I keep my knowledge up to date by attending industry courses and conferences, reading new industry publications and studies, for example. I have also given lectures on orthodontic techniques. My daily work with orthodontic patients also ensures I always find my work interesting and fulfilling.

I think it is important that I also feel good in yourself, as this helps me give patients the best treatment. I look after my ability to work and my own well-being by practicing Ashtanga yoga, running and oil painting.

I graduated as a dentist in 1993 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Turku. Immediately after graduating as a dentist, I started working at an orthodontic specialist’s practice and at that time treated orthodontic patients together with the specialist. During that period, I also regularly attended further training courses in orthodontics in Finland, elsewhere in Europe and in the United States. This solidified my interest in orthodontic treatment and I was able to specialise by undertaking a three-year orthodontic specialisation programme at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Turku in 2000, and I graduated as an orthodontic specialist in 2003.
